Infidelity is a major cause of breakdown of a marriage worldwide. In the United States one third of divorces take place due to Infidelity, making it the most common reason for divorce. The rate of divorce has increased to an alarming rate in the last century, the reasons of which being different and complex. The number of divorce in the western countris is significantly more than the other countries. In case of termination of marriage it has been seen that the Spouses has been unfaithful consistently during the affair or just once. The reason behind unfaithfulness may be many, like, sexual boredom,resentment or anger, or other compliceted causes of marital failure.

In many cases the reason of divorce might exist even before that couple were married and it was then either ignored or not acknowledged with a hope of some miraculous change after marriage. When it does not, it ends in an unfortunate divorce.
